This process was smooth (5mins max) with no hard upsell like I have previously experienced at the airport branch. The handover was just as easy so I will definitely be coming back to the city branch next time I need a vehicle. Especially as they are open 7 days a week.
A couple of general points about Easirent (but could be applied to most car rental places), check the deposit amount. Easirent is higher than most, but no problem if you have room on your credit card. If you don't have a spare £1250 headroom you will be hit with some reasonably high insurance fees to lower the liability and remove the requirement for the deposit. They charged me extra £57 for fuel even though I brought it back 100% filled. The excuse was that I asked for the option to bring it empty and it did not matter if it was full or not. I did not ask for this option and it was processed without my consent. When I returned the car I was even assured that the fuel charges would not be charged. It is a company full of nasty surprises and I suspected that something was not right when I picked up the car and they even tried to add to my bill insurance on top of the one I already had selected.
Do not use them because:
1. They try to trick their customers (in my case successfully)
2. They finally cost me more than any other well known / legitimate car hire company
3.They did not refund me even though I provided evidence (gas receipt and pictures) that I returned the car with a full tank
4. If something goes wrong they will "apologise" and blame you
